Car Parking Plan for H&B Junior

Deadline for online prepayment is Fri 16th Oct @ 23:59 PM so sign up now!

This Sat 17th Oct, thousands of Junior Hellraisers will be taking on the Helloween Junior: 4KM course with over 800 cars expected throughout the event.

To help everything run smoothly, please plan your journey in advance, follow the directions of our Car Park Attendants and allow extra time for traffic and parking.

ARRIVE AND PARK AT LEAST 60 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR ALLOCATED START TIME to allow time for Registration, wristband collection and the uphill walk to the Start Line at Giltspur Basecamp.

IMPORTANT: SPECTATOR ACCESS WARNING!

Please be aware that that reaching the Start/Finish Lines and Event Village at Giltspur Basecamp involves a considerable amount of walking, including an uphill section.

Depending on your allocated Car Park, allow:

  • 2-15 minutes to walk from your Car Park to the Registration Tent.

  • An additional 5-10 minutes uphill from Registration to the Start/Finish Lines and Event Village.

  • 15-25 minutes for the return walk to your Car Park, depending on location and ground conditions.

Given the time of year, the route may be steep, wet and uneven, and may not be suitable for buggies, strollers or anyone with limited mobility or uncomfortable with longer walks.

Please take this into account when planning your visit.

HELLOWEEN JUNIOR CAR PARKING PLAN 2026

Our Helloween Junior Car Parking Plan 2026 outlines everything you need to know about parking, directions and site access for this Saturday's event.

For this event, we'll once again be using Giltspur Basecamp, a tarmaced area in the heart of Killruddery Estate, for our Start/Finish Lines and Event Village, including food, drink, first aid and toilets.

Car parking opens at 09:00. Weather permitting, our main parking area will be the Killruddery Grass Car Parks with the Southern Cross IDA Car Park available as a backup.

Click here for a Google Maps link to the Killruddery Grass Car Parks.

Please follow the large digital signs on Southern Cross Road and the instructions of our Car Park Attendants, who will direct you to the appropriate parking area.

PARKING LOCATIONS

Cars:

Weather permitting, cars will be directed to one of two parking locations:

  • Killruddery Grass Car Parks (MAIN) - grass parking within Killruddery Estate.

  • Southern Cross IDA Car Park (BACKUP) - tarmac parking off Southern Cross Road.

Car park allocations may change throughout the day to manage traffic flow, particularly when participants are leaving.

Please follow the large digital signs on Southern Cross Road and Car Park Attendant instructions, rather than heading directly to a particular Car Park.

Coaches & Minibuses:

Weather permitting, coaches and minibuses will park on tarmac at the main entrance to the Alive Outside Adventure Centre in Killruddery.

Allow 5-10 minutes to walk to the Registration Tent, followed by a further 5–10 minutes uphill to the Start Line and Event Village in Giltspur Basecamp.

Please share this Google Maps link with your bus driver: [Click here]

If you haven’t yet let us know that you’re travelling by coach or minibus, please email Ciaran at info@aliveoutside.ie as soon as possible.

CARPOOLING

With over 800 cars expected, we're encouraging families and groups to carpool where possible. Fewer vehicles will help reduce congestion, make parking and exiting the site easier and minimise our environmental impact.
