Helloween Junior: Car Parking Plan (18/10/2025)

Car Parking Plan for H&B Junior

Deadline for online prepayment is Fri 17th Oct @ 23:59 PM so sign up now!

This Saturday 18th October, thousands of Junior Hellraisers will be taking on the Helloween Junior: 4KM course and, as we gear up for an epic day of adventure, it’s important to plan your journey in advance.

To help everything run smoothly, we’ve put a clear car parking system in place. Please read the details below carefully to make sure your arrival is stress-free.

We expect over 800 cars arriving on Saturday so please be patient as we try to get everyone parked as quickly and safely as possible.

You should arrive and park AT LEAST 60 MINUTES before your allocated start time to allow you register and familiarise yourself with all the facilities and services in the Event Village before you start on your hellish adventure.

WARNING: THIS IS NOT A SPECTATOR-FRIENDLY EVENT!

Please be aware that this event involves significant walking uphill. As shown on the map below, while the Car Park in Killruddery is located close to Giltspur Basecamp, it does require participants and spectators walking a considerable distance uphill from the Registration Tent to the Start/Finish Line. You will need to:

  • Walk 5 minutes to the Registration Tent.

  • Walk an additional 5-10 minutes uphill to the Start Line.

  • After finishing, it will take 10-15 minutes to walk back to your car.

Considering the time of year, weather and potential underfoot conditions, this long uphill walk along uneven farm paths may not be suitable for child buggies, strollers or for those who are uncomfortable walking long distances. Please take this into account when planning for Saturday.

HELLOWEEN JUNIOR CAR PARKING PLAN

For this annual event, we'll once again be using The Giltspur Barracks, a tarmaced area in the heart of Killruddery Estate where the Event Village (for food, drink, first aid, toilets etc) and the Start / Finish Lines will be located. Weather permitting, to ensure a smooth and organised experience for everybody, all parking will be onsite on grass fields in Killruddery from 08:30.

Click here for a Google Maps link to the Grass Car Parks in Killruddery. Please follow the directional signs on your approach to Killruddery, have patience (it will be busy!) and obey the instructions of our car parking attendants who will guide you to an available space.

Note: In the event of bad weather, the Southern Cross IDA Car Park will be used as a backup. Follow the large display signs on Southern Cross Road for directions on the day.

PARKING LOCATIONS

Cars:

To ensure efficient parking and traffic flow, and dependent on weather, there will be just one designated car park in operation on Saturday:

  • Killruddery fields - on grass

  • (IDA Business Park on Southern Cross Road will be used as a back-up.)

Follow the Visual Display Signs on approach, be patient and obey the instructions from parking attendants who will guide you to an available space.

Coaches & Minibuses:

Weather permitting, all coaches and minibuses will be parked on tarmac in Killruddery Estate. While this means you will be closer to the Start Line, your bus driver will also require patience to exit the site when it is busy.

Allow 5-10 minutes to walk from the bus park to the Registration Tent and a further 5-10 minutes to walk uphill to the Start Line & Event Village in Giltspur Basecamp.

CARPOOLING

To reduce congestion and minimise environmental impact, we strongly encourage carpooling.

  • Fewer cars will make parking easier and quicker for everyone.

  • Share a ride with teammates or friends to help reduce traffic delays.

DIRECTIONS & SITE ACCESS

For navigation, use the following Google Map link:

Please follow directional signs and instructions from parking attendants. Traffic will be heavy, so allow plenty of time for arrival.

Car Park Guidelines:

  • Killruddery Car Parks (grass)

    • Follow instructions on Digital Signs upon approach.

    • Upon entry, allow 10-15 minutes from Main Gate to Car Park.

    • Allow 20-30 minutes to exit site at peak hours.

  • Pre-paid Parking:

  • On-the-day Payment:

ACCESSIBLE PARKING

As mentioned above, this event is not spectator-friendly and involves a considerable amount of uphill walking. However, a limited number of accessible parking spaces are available in Killruddery for individuals with reduced mobility.

Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with a deadline of 11:30AM on Friday 17th October. Unfortunately, if you miss this deadline, we can’t guarantee a parking space, but we’ll do our best to accommodate you where possible.
